A Singapore funeral rites

My uncles passed away and  I was at the funeral wake. The typical Buddhist/Taoism funeral rites consists of burning paper car, filled with gold ingots, chest of paper money so the deceased can enjoy a rich life in the afterworld . The blue paper car, together with the paper chest of money will all be burnt on the last night before the cremation. The coffin is placed in a makeshift tent, just behind the photo of the deceased.

There is a band playing too on the day itself.

On the day of cremation, the eldest son will lead the funeral procession.

Neurobasis chinensis

Neurobasis chinensis is a species of damselfly found in tropical Asia. Males have a very iridescent hindwing which is flashed in display to females and maintain their territories along stretches of moderately fast-flowing streams.
